Who knew making wheat bread could be this easy? it’s the moistest (yeah, I said it) bread I have made. It’s such a great sandwich bread.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5-5-1/2 cups warm water (105-115 degrees)
  • 2/3 cup oil
  • 1/3 cup honey or 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 TBS salt
  • 3 TBS instant yeast
  • up to 12-14 cups of wheat flour (read directions why)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add the first five ingredients to your mixer and run the mix for 30 seconds on speed 1.
  2. After 30 seconds, stop the mixer and add 4-5 cups of flour. On speed 1 mix until the batter is smooth then stop your mixer.
  3. Add in the yeast and mix for 30 seconds. after 30 seconds add 1 -4 cups of flour one cup at a time until the sides and bottom of the bowl are free from the batter. The total flour used should be around 12-14 cups. Then stop your mixer.
  4. Add 1-1/2 additional flour- place the lid on the mixer (if using a Bosch) and run the mixer on speed 2. Knead dough for 5 minutes.
  5. While the mixer is kneading the dough, grease your bread pans.
  6.  Spray your hands and counter, and divide into three loaves when using the Pullman pans and 5 loaves if using the normal-size pans.
  7. Form into loaves, and have rise in the bread pans covered until they’re double in size.
  8. Have your oven preheated to 350⁰ and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove loaves from pans and cool on a wire rack.
