INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1/4 chopped onions
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 cups beef stock ( or beef onion soup packets)
- 1 large onion thinly sliced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 3 Tbs cold water
- 3 Tbs cornstarch
DIRECTIONS
- Combine beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
- We like thinner patties, so we shape them into 4 patties about 3/4 thick but make it to the thickness you like.
- Cook patties in a skillet in a little oil for 10 minutes, or until both sides are brown.
- Add stock, onion slices, mushrooms, and garlic to skillet.
- heat to boiling, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1o minutes.
- Remove patties from the skillet, and keep them warm.
- Bring the onion mixture to a boil.
- Combine water and cornstarch.
- Add water and cornstarch mixture to the onion mixture.
- Bring to a boil while stirring constantly for 1 minute.
- Put meat back into the pan to warm up, cover with sauce then put on a platter and serve.
