Fruit Salad Citrus Syrup

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • zest of 1 orange
  • juice of 1 orange
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbs chopped mint leaves

 

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine sugar, and water in a small saucepan.
  2. Zest the orange and add the zest to the saucepan. Juice the orange and add the juice to the saucepan as well.
  3. Stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes to slightly thicken.
  5. Stir occasionally.
  6. Set aside to cool, then store in the fridge until cold.
  7. once cold drizzle the desired amount over your fruit salad.
