Ingredients (Marinade):
- 2 lb pork butt
- 1 cup Dr. Pepper (not diet – Coke works too!)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Directions (Marinade):
- Combine pork, soda, and brown sugar in a heavy zip-top bag.
- Seal and marinate in the fridge for a few hours or overnight
Ingredients (Slow Cooker):
- Marinated pork (drained)
- 1 cup Soda
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
Directions (Slow Cooking):
- After marinating, drain the liquid and place the pork into the slow cooker.
- Add soda, water, and spices
- Cook on high for 3–4 hours or low for 6 hours, until pork is tender and shreds easily.
- Remove the pork, drain the liquid, shred, and return the shredded pork to the slow cooker.
Ingredients: Sweet Pork Sauce
- 1 cup soda
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 10 oz can of red enchilada sauce
- 4 oz can diced green chilies
- 1 tsp chili powder
Directions:
- In a blender, blend soda, brown sugar, enchilada sauce, green chilies, and chili powder.
- Pour sauce over the shredded pork in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally
