Boston Baked Beans

INGREDIENTS

  • 2-3 cans of Bush’s original baked beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can Great Northern beans
  • 1 can butter beans
  • 1 lb browned ground beef
  • 1/2 lb cooked bacon
  • chopped onion
  • 2-4 Tbs brown sugar
  • 4 Tbs ketchup
  • 2 Tbs mustard
  • 2 Tbs cornstarch (optional)

 

DIRECTIONS

  1. This recipe can be made in the slow cooker & baked in the oven.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown up the ground beef with the chopped onion.  Drain the fat.
  3. Fry or bake up the bacon.
  4. To your slow cooker or baking dish add in all the cans of beans, drained with cooked ground beef and bacon broken into pieces. Mix.
  5. Mix in brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard.
  6.  If you want a thicker sauce mix in  2 Tbs cornstarch with water.
  7. If cooking in a slow cooker, cook on low for 3-4 hrs or high for 2.
  8. If you prefer to cook in the oven, bake at 350°F covered for 25 minutes.
